Join Beyond Category Collective for “Soundscapes of Social Justice: Folk to Fusion,” an accessible online course blending Scottish folk, Hindustani vocal tradition, Qawwali energy, Western classical craft, and jazz sensibility—built around Duke Ellington’s idea of honest, ego-free music. You’ll learn how to translate social-justice themes into melody, rhythm, and text; build a fusion arrangement that respects each lineage; and create a short original soundscape inspired by “Kyun hum padein hain? / Why are we stuck in the dark?” By the end, you’ll be able to write a thematic musical map, rehearse collaboratively online, and produce a guided demo ready for feedback, sharing, and performance.
